Description
Multinational supermarket chain SPAR announced to hire 800 new employees in Austria in the course of taking over former Zielpunkt branches.
The Austrian subsidiary of the Dutch based retail chain SPAR will operate 28 branches (16 of which in Vienna) of Zielpunkt which declared bankruptcy in November 2015 as reported by Eurofound. The company is however facing difficulties finding personnel with suitable qualifications. Therefore, part of the former Zielpunkt staff including apprentices will be kept. Additionally, SPAR announced further investments in the training of new apprentices. So far 500 new employees were hired but the company is currently looking for additional 300 employees.
