Description
German shoe maker Gabor is creating at least 100 new jobs as it moves the production of shoe specimens from Austria to Banovce nad Bebravou, Slovakia. Management anticipates that shoe production in Slovakia will soon return to the same level as in 2008 - about 2.2 million shoes. Due to the economic downturn Gabor Slovakia had closed its plant in Liptovský Mikuláš in 2009, and also reduced the staff in Bánovce nad Bebravou from 1,550 to its current 1,233 employees.
