Description
Federal Mogul, a global supplier for automotive sector, is to cut 383 jobs in Italy. At the beginning of April, the company has announced the recourse to the extraordinary Wage Guarantee Fund for 383 workers, in view of the beginning of the collective dismissals' procedures. The extraordinary Wage Guarantee Fund scheme will last one year.
In the previous 26 months, Federal Mogul already utilised the ordinary Wage Guarantee Fund scheme, which is applied in cases of temporary downturns in production due to transitory reasons.
The trade unions reacted to the company's decision by announcing several plant meetings with the workers and asking some meetings with the company in order to find measures to avoid the collective dismissals.
Federal Mogul in Italy has 1,224 employees.
