Description

State enterprise LESY Slovenskej republiky, which manages forests and produces timber, will dismiss 500 employees in an aim to rationalise the company’s operations and increasing the effectiveness of its business. Employees working at all levels of organisational hierarchy will be hit by the redundancies although most of the job cuts will be of white collar workers. It is expected that the planned dismissals will reduce labour costs in the company by SKK 300 million (about Euro 10 million). Employment effect start and timeline were not yet announced.
