The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Following the acquisition of Neuf-Cegetel, the French telecommunications operator, by one of its main shareholders, SFR, the management announced a reorganization that will cut between 450 and 800 jobs on a voluntary basis. According to a union's representative, the plan concerns 800 persons but will be offset by some 350 jobs creation. Along with the restructuring plan, the management intends to avoid duplication in both support (marketing, finance and communication) and network activities. Besides it assured that it had implemented measures to favour geographic and functional mobility within the enterprise. Personnel representatives are expected to give their opinion in September
