Description
Swedwood, the furniture manufacturer owned by IKEA, will close one of its production units at its Jasná plant in Závažná Poruba cutting about 100 jobs. Currently more than 900 employees are working there. Dismissals are planned to be completed by August 2008. The decision was caused by decrease of customer orders. According to Jasná plant CEO, Kamil Cedula, redundancies will hit mainly employees working in manual technologies. Organisational changes will increase the effectiveness of the production and decrease the overtime work.
