European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
After Sony Corporation also another Japanese company decided to operate in Slovakia. Ryoka, which is one of the key suppliers of Sony in Asia, will establish its subsidiary in Nitra, where also Sony builds its new production plant. European division of Ryoka will invest around 300 million SKK to establish a new production plant where more than 300 new jobs will be created. Construction works concerning the new plant would start in June 2007 and the trial production is planed for spring 2008. Different sorts of plastic and aluminium pressed parts for LCD TVs will be produced there. Also other subcontractors of Sony announced their intention to follow the Ryoka Company and come to Slovakia, too.
