Description

Austrian engineering firm VA Tech has announced the closure of its Edinburgh plant with the loss of 225 jobs. The shutdown of the factory, which trades as Peebles Transformers Limited in Leith, will begin almost immediately. The company said poor demand for its electrical transformers was the cause.
