Description
Odelo Slovenija, a Slovenian manufacturer of automotive lighting systems, has announced between 117 and 127 jobs across its production sites in Prebold and Črešnjevci.
About 57 positions will be eliminated in Črešnjevci and an additional 60 to 70 in Prebold, with the final shutdown scheduled for the end of 2026. The restructuring is driven by a sharp decline in orders from the automotive industry, notably due to Audi’s sales in China being 35 to 50% below expectations.
The company has tried to minimise redundancies by suspending student work and halting the planned recruitment of additional foreign workers. The trade union has proposed that the company make use of internal redeployment of staff and mutually agreed ‘soft’ departures from the company.
