Description
GP Joule, a German renewable energy company headquartered in Reußenköge (Lower-Saxony), announced plans to eliminate around 100 jobs, primarily in administrative functions.
The cuts are part of an internal restructuring aimed at reducing costs amid economic pressures and uncertain regulatory frameworks for the renewable energy sector. GP Joule cited weaker-than-expected developments in the hydrogen and electromobility sectors as additional factors affecting its business outlook.
Management has offered approximately half of the affected employees new positions within other group entities, while the remaining employees will face direct dismissal.
GP Joule's workforce has already declined in recent years, from around 1,000 employees to approximately 765 by October 2026.
