Description

Generali Deutschland AG, the German operations of an Italian insurance group, announced plans to cut 800 jobs across the country by the end of 2030. The company also plans to close its sites in Aachen, Nuremberg and Stuttgart, with affected employees being transferred to regional hubs in Munich, Cologne and Karlsruhe.

The restructuring is driven by a comprehensive modernisation strategy focused on digitalisation, artificial intelligence and streamlined processes, with the aim of strengthening the company’s competitiveness.

The company intends to implement the cuts primarily through voluntary departures, early retirement and natural attrition, in consultation with the works council.

Generali employs approximately 9,100 people in Germany.
