European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Telia, a Swedish telecommunications company, announced around 900 job cuts and 75 new positions across its Nordic and Baltic operations, with implementation planned for completion by the end of 2026.
The restructuring will affect staff in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Lithuania. In Estonia, there were around 100 job losses, as recorded in the ERM Events Database. Telia Eesti 2026 - EE
The move aims to simplify the organisation and realise roughly €89 million in savings by streamlining operations. CEO Patrik Hofbauer highlighted that tough decisions are necessary and pledged support for affected employees during the process.
Telia currently employs about 14 000 staff worldwide.
