Description
TransPerfect, a U.S. language-services and AI data-annotation firm, has announced the dismissal of 266 workers in its DataForce unit across Spain, approximately a quarter of total company employment in Spain (1,054 employees) via an Employment Restructuring File (ERE process).
The affected employees, primarily data annotators who evaluated AI system responses for Apple, are concentrated mainly in Barcelona (208), with additional losses in Madrid (41), Málaga (11), Alicante (4), Mallorca (1) and Valencia (1). The restructuring has been the consequence of the loss of the company's contract with Apple. Unions have denounced the process as retaliation and is engaged in negotiations with management, underscoring labor-partner involvement.
