Description
Bosch, a German automotive supplier, has announced that it will be cutting up to 900 jobs at its Nürenberg site until the end of 2029.
As a supplier to the internal combustion engine industry, Bosch is affected by the shift towards electric mobility. In addition, Bosch is facing increasing competition from China and declining sales. Bosch also cited the slower-than-expected development of the European hydrogen market, which has reduced production volumes and plant utilisation.
The company said it intends to seek socially responsible solutions for the workforce reduction.
There are currently 1,800 jobs at the site in Nürenberg, half of which will be layed off. The cuts come in addition to previously announced group-wide workforce reductions of 13,000 jobs worldwide Bosch 2025 - WO, including 8,610 job cuts in Germany Bosch 2025 - DE.
