European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Cims, an Italian construction, facility management and environmental services cooperative, announced plans that could result in approximately 70 job cuts among its workforce of around 300 employees in Borgo Tossignano, Bologna province. The planned workforce reduction, follows a deterioration in the cooperative's financial position and ongoing liquidity constraints.
The company intends to apply for social protection measures during the restructuring process, while details regarding the number of employees affected, possible redundancies, transfers of activities and other workforce adjustment measures remain under discussion with employee representatives. Trade unions CGIL, CISL and UIL expressed strong concern following meetings with management, citing the absence of a new recovery plan and warning of potential insolvency risks should creditors initiate legal action. The unions have called for the urgent activation of a regional crisis task force and urged local authorities and Legacoop to support measures aimed at safeguarding employment and mitigating the social impact of the restructuring. Further discussions with the company's president are expected in the coming days.
