European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Vodafone Intelligent Solutions, a British-owned telecommunications and IT services provider operating in Spain and belonging to the Vodafone Group, has announced a 20% reduction of its Spanish workforce, equating to about 180 employees.
The cuts will affect the division’s staff across all its Spanish locations, with no specific city singled out for the layoffs. The restructuring is expected to begin shortly after the announcement.Vodafone Intelligent Solutions has undertaken the job cut as part of an internal cost-optimisation strategy.
The trade union UGT has challenged the necessity of the cuts, calling them "unnecessary and difficult to justify." Negotiations are ongoing, with unions seeking to reduce the number of affected workers or improve compensation.
