Description

Engmatec, a German machine engineering company, has announced that it will cease operations, resulting in the closure of its production site in Radolfzell am Bodensee. The company's 150 employees, specialised in the field of automation and testing technology, have already received notice of termination, and the winding-up process is expected to be completed by October.

The closure follows insolvency proceedings under self-administration, which were initiated in spring 2026 but ultimately failed to attract the investment needed to secure the company's future. The insolvency was triggered by a weak economic environment, declining order volumes, international price competition and rising costs.

A social plan has been agreed with the works council to support affected employees in finding new employment opportunities.

Founded in 1994, the company is now focusing on completing its remaining customer orders before operations are fully discontinued.
