Description

Vishay Siliconex, a semiconductor manufacturer operating in Germany, has announced the creation of more than 100 new jobs at its production facility in Itzehoe. Initial project announcements in 2023 referred to the creation of 150 jobs, while more recent reporting in July 2026 states that more than 100 jobs are expected to be created.

The expansion forms part of an investment programme worth more than €400 million and aims to double the production capacity for chip switches used in automotive power transistors. The initiative is linked to the European Union's Chips Act, which seeks to strengthen semiconductor manufacturing within Europe and reduce dependence on imports from Asia. By expanding its facility in Itzehoe, Vishay is supporting this strategic objective.

Vishay employs more than 22,000 people worldwide.
