European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Prefabricados Delta, a Spanish manufacturer of prefabricated concrete components for hydraulic and railway infrastructure, has announced 214 job cuts across its two production sites (134 positions at the Puente Genil plant in Córdoba and 80 positions at the Humanes facility in Madrid). The restructuring will affect roughly 81 % of the company’s 264 employees.
The cutbacks are driven by organisational and productivity reasons cited by management, with unions challenging the scale and seeking voluntary alternatives during negotiations slated to begin on beginning of July.
The production plant in Puente genil is one of the largest manufacturing sites in the locality, where Unions have warned about the important economic and social effects derived from this measure.
