Description
Metalurgia, a Polish steel wire producer based in Radomsko, started a controlled liquidation process on 1 July 2026. The closure is expected to result in the termination of employment contracts with 100 employees.
The decision was caused by long-term unfavourable conditions on EU markets and repeated financial losses, despite earlier restructuring measures. Other factors included low demand, the war in Ukraine, US tariffs, higher material and energy costs, and competition from non-European suppliers.
The company has been consulting trade unions, and cooperation has also been established with the PES, local government, and other regional partners on severance and job-placement support. Employees will receive statutory benefits and support in finding new jobs.
