Description

Mister Spex, a German eyewear retailer, announced the closure of its logistics and production centre in Berlin-Spandau, resulting in 125 job losses. The facility will be phased out during the second half of 2026, with the full transfer of operations to logistics partner Arvato scheduled for completion by the end of the year.

The logistics function is being outsourced to Arvato, a subsidiary of Bertelsmann. The company will take over warehousing operations and the processing of returns. According to Mister Spex, the move is intended to increase efficiency and provide greater cost flexibility.

The company has stated that it intends to implement the workforce reduction in a socially responsible manner and has developed a support package for affected employees. This includes financial assistance during the transition period as well as support with future career opportunities and job placement.

Mister Spex employs more than 900 people.
