Description

Takeda, a Japanese pharmaceutical company, announced the elimination of roughly 200 positions in Austria, primarily within its biologics research and development division in Vienna.

The cuts are part of a strategic realignment following a leadership transition, aimed at strengthening competitiveness and enhancing long-term growth.

Despite the reductions, the company will continue its research activities in Vienna and remains a significant employer in the country, with more than 4,000 Austrian staff.

Negotiations for a social plan are underway, with the union GPA-Wien representing affected workers.
