European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Alkomet AD, a Bulgarian manufacturer of rolling and press products, announced the opening of a new production facility in Shumen, creating 160 jobs. The expansion boosts capacity for automotive, electric vehicle and renewable energy sectors. Construction began in 2024 and was completed after 18 months, around early 2026. The project adds modern, high-technology equipment to key production lines, supporting the company’s strategy to serve the automotive and renewable energy markets. The expansion reflects a green-transition focus and does not involve job cuts or social-partner negotiations.
