Description

Hervis, an Austrian sport-retailer, announced the closure of 17 of its 93 stores in 2026, leading to about 100 job cuts across several locations in Austria. The restructuring will unfold gradually throughout 2026, with the final closures expected by 31 December 2026.

The closures are part of a strategic realignment under the new ownership by Quantum Investment Holding, aimed at focusing on market and customer demands while shedding stores that are no longer profitable.

A social plan was negotiated jointly with the works council and the trade union, outlining severance and support measures for affected employees.

The announcement to close 17 of its Austrian stores follows a previous announcement by the company to put strategic focus on its Austrian market operations and announcing the sale of its Croatian, German and Slovakian subsidiaries. A move that caused the closure of all Slovakian locations and loss of 250 jobs Hervis 2026 - SK.
