Description

E power, a Belgian manufacturer of power generators, announced the closure of its plant in Nieuwerkerken following a bankruptcy filing that has resulted in the loss of 100 jobs. The company’s workforce, previously about one hundred people, will be terminated as the company ceases operations. The bankruptcy stems from a downturn in sales and a wave of delayed orders that strained the firm’s finances.

Union representatives from ACV-CSC METEA are engaging with the parties to protect the affected employees’ interests and to explore potential retention strategies. An acquisition negotiation with Bruno Generators Group offers a possibility that 35 to 40 staff members could be retained if the deal proceeds.
