Description
Epta, a Finnish cold-machine manufacturer, announced a plan to close down its Porvoo plant, which is threatening to affect about 153 out of 165 employees. The cooperation negotiations that started at the beginning of May 2026 include all of the plant's employees. The shutdown would commence in autumn 2026 and, according to preliminary estimates, be completed in May 2027. The company cites declining profitability and the need to align production capacity with regional demand as the primary reasons for the restructuring. The workforce reduction will involve direct dismissals. The plan focuses solely on the Porvoo facility, with no indicated impact on other sites.
