Description

Bjelin, a Croatian wood-processing firm, announced the closure of its Bjelovar plant, resulting in 149 job cuts. The plant’s closure is effective from the end of the first half of 2026, with final dismissals slated for 15 July 2026.The job cuts are all direct dismissals, as employees will receive termination notices and legal severance.

The company, which has not announced a sale of the site, will shut down production of wood cutting, board sales and floor-plank manufacturing. Trade union PPDIV is actively involved in the consultation process, and the mayor of Bjelovar is offering support to help redeploy workers in the region.
