Description

Nestlé España, a Spanish subsidiary of the Swiss multinational Nestlé, announced a collective dismissal procedure (ERE) that will affect up to 301 employees—about 7 % of its workforce—across six production plants and other units such as offices, sales teams, and distribution centers.

The company is carrying out the adjustment as part of an “operational transformation plan” aimed at addressing rising operating costs, shifting consumer habits, and the evolution of its distribution brand. The restructuring will be driven by automation and digitalisation of processes to ensure business viability and long-term value creation. The job cuts will take place at the six Spanish sites located in Pontecesures (Pontevedra), Sebares (Asturias), La Penilla (Cantabria), Miajadas (Cáceres), Reus (Tarragona) and Girona, with the procedure governed by Spanish labour law under an ERE. While specific start and end dates have not been disclosed, the announcement marks the formal commencement of the process. Nestlé España has indicated that the collective dismissal will be conducted transparently, with the company engaging in honest dialogue with the unions CCOO and UGT to explore measures that could mitigate the impact of the ERE.
