Description

The Finnish manufacturer of batteries for the automotive industry, Ioncor, has announced the need for internal restructuring due to a decrease in order volumes as a result of declining demand for cars.

The company has initiated cooperation negotiations that can lead to the dismissal of 145 employees. Redundancies will concern the company's factories in Salo and Uusikaupunki in southern Finland. Additionally, restructuring will affect support functions across different locations in the country. Measures include changes to job descriptions, relocations, and dismissals.

Ioncor has around 1,100 employees in total at six locations in Finland and Germany. Around 500 employees work in the Salo factory and slightly below 200 in Uusikaupunki.

The company carried out layoffs most recently in February 2025 Ioncor 2025 - FI.
