European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Condis Supermercats, a Spanish supermarket company, plans to generate around 200 new jobs across Spain, particularly in Catalonia, where the company’s proximity model is strongest, with the opening of between 30 and 35 new franchised supermarkets in 2026.
According to the company, nearly half of Condis’s business currently comes from its franchise network, which already comprises around 571 stores and employs approximately 3,000 people. The franchise model remains a central pillar of the company’s growth strategy, supporting both territorial presence and local employment opportunities. This expansion follows a positive performance in the previous year, when Condis’s network recorded a significant number of openings, closures and transfers, resulting in a net increase in store numbers and new jobs within its franchise system.
