Description
Liebherr-Transportation Systems Maritsa, a subsidiary of the German industrial group Liebherr, announced an investment of 90 million Euro to expand its production capacity for aircraft components, creating around 600 new jobs at its site in the Trakia Economic Zone near Plovdiv. The project is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its position as a supplier to the aviation industry, including Airbus.
The expansion involves the development of new production facilities and the introduction of additional manufacturing capacities for high value-added components. The company has already started recruitment, with production expected to begin in May 2026, while full operational capacity is planned to be reached by mid-2027.
The newly created jobs are expected to include a mix of technical, engineering and production positions.
No information has been reported regarding the involvement of trade unions or other social partners at this stage.
Liebherr is a multinational industrial group with activities in aerospace, transportation systems and manufacturing, employing several thousand workers in Bulgaria through its subsidiaries.
