Description

The Zagreb Electric Tram is looking for 100 new bus drivers. The ZET is the transit authority responsible for public transport in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, and parts of the surrounding Zagreb County. ZET operates an extensive bus system, 19 tram lines (15 daytime lines and 4 nighttime lines), a gondola lift and a funicular line. The requirements for bus drivers include a minimum age of 24 and possession of a Category B or C driver’s license. Previous experience is not required, but candidates must meet health and medical fitness standards. Facing a labour shortage, the company has decided for the first time to fully cover the costs of retraining for candidates. Until now, drivers had to pay these costs themselves, with reimbursement provided later. The training programme lasts six months, after which successful candidates are expected to begin working. The average gross monthly salary of a ZET driver is about €1,950, which is approximately equal to the average gross salary in Croatia.
