Description

Mocopinus, a German company in the wood processing sector, announced the closure of its business operations and the loss of all 270 jobs at all its locations in Germany, including production facilities in Karlsruhe and Ammelshain. The measure follows an insolvency filing in December 2025. After no investor could be found to take over the entire operating business, operations are to be discontinued in the coming weeks once the remaining customer orders have been completed.

The job cuts are part of the complete shutdown of the company's activities in Germany. Management stated that current market conditions in the construction and wood industry no longer allow for the economically viable continuation of the company without an investor.

Employees have been informed of the planned closure of the business. The job cuts are to be implemented in consultation with the works council.

Mocopinus was founded in 1865 and specialises in the finishing of wood and the manufacture of solid wood profiles for facades, interior fittings, and terraces. As of March 2026, negotiations about the takeover of the company's subsidiary Lignum-Finish in Aitrach by an investor are still ongoing.
