Description
Stellantis, a multinational automotive manufacturer, has announced the creation of over 430 job opportunities at its production sites in Turin and the Piedmont region. Around 400 of these roles will be based at the Mirafiori Carrozzerie plant, supporting the launch of the Fiat 500 Hybrid and the introduction of a second production shift.
According to company statements, 80 new employees started work in mid-February 2026, with a further 160 expected by the end of the month, and the remainder planned for March. The new roles are permanent, full-time positions, primarily for young workers with technical diplomas. They will undergo training to work in the production of hybrid vehicles, thereby supporting the company’s industrial reorganization and transition towards more sustainable mobility.
While trade unions acknowledge the positive employment impact, they remain cautious given the difficulties in Italian automotive production. They note that long-term recovery will depend on the stability of market demand. Local institutions have welcomed the investment as an opportunity to revitalise the Turin automotive ecosystem.
