Description

Hensoldt, a German defence electronics company specialising in sensor and radar systems, has announced plans to hire nearly 200 workers from the automotive suppliers Continental and Bosch.

The recruitment is linked to restructuring in the automotive sector, including the planned closure of Continental’s Wetzlar plant Continental 2025-DE where around 360 jobs are at risk, and capacity reductions at Bosch in the Stuttgart region Bosch 2024-DE . Hensoldt expects to take over around 100 employees from Continental in Wetzlar and nearly 100 from Bosch, mainly software engineers and technical specialists. The company offers jobs at its several sites in Baden-Württemberg, including Ulm, where production capacities are being expanded.

The business expansion is driven by rising defence demand in Europe following the war in Ukraine.

Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Germany, Hensoldt employs about 9,000 people worldwide, including 8,000 in Germany. The company has 10 production sites located in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and the Republic of South Africa.
