Description
Arc, the French glass products manufacturer, plans to cut at least 300 jobs following its recent acquisition. The company also expects around 100 voluntary departures. The social plan also takes into account that nearly 400 employees are close to retirement age. In total, there will be 800 vacancies.
The job reductions would occur as part of a takeover proposal submitted by the former CEO in the context of the company’s placement into judicial reorganisation in early January 2026. The company didn't resist the last events: in recent years, the company have endured the Covid-19 pandemic, soaring energy costs and inflation, and has also suffered from historic flooding in Pas-de-Calais in 2023 and 2024.
Negotiations regarding the acquisition of Arc in France are scheduled to take place in March. The social plan, however, will be implemented before the completion of the acquisition.
