Description

Visagino Linija, a furniture manufacturing company belonging to the SBA Group, is optimising its operations and laying off 99 employees, or 18% of its total workforce. Employees will be laid off by the beginning of May, with the largest number of job losses affecting machine operators (65), senior operators (5), workers (16), and production foremen (5).

According to company representatives, this decision was influenced by ongoing investments in more modern and efficient production lines, as well as the fact that some products had reached the end of their natural life cycle.

The company emphasises that all employees affected by these changes have been informed individually and will be compensated in full in accordance with applicable laws. The company also aims to make the transition period as smooth as possible for both employees and production processes. Visagino Linija is cooperating with specialists from the Employment Service. Meetings are planned at the factory for employees to learn more about current job offers on the market, Employment Service training and qualification programs, as well as other benefits that would facilitate employment in other companies

The SBA Group comprises five furniture manufacturing companies in Lithuania and a logistics centre. The company's main furniture buyer is the Swedish furniture retailer Ikea.
