Description

MediaMarkt Portugal will be rebranded as Darty from 1 October 2025, following its acquisition by the Fnac Darty Group. This relaunch forms part of an ambitious expansion plan to reach 40 stores by 2030, supported by an investment of over €30 million.

The growth plan also includes the creation of more than 500 jobs, strengthening the brand’s presence in the Portuguese market. The initial investment for the stores’ rebranding is estimated at around €5 million.

Portugal’s Competition Authority (AdC) said it had no objections to Fnac’s acquisition of MediaMarkt Portugal, as the transaction is not expected to create any significant obstacles to effective competition in the market.
