Description

The Bombay Group, which recently opened a luxury hotel and casino in Tallinn's Old Town, announced the layoff of at least 145 people due to internal restructuring. The redundancies will affect staff across the group’s hotels, restaurants, the casino, and office functions.

According to the company representative, the hotel, restaurant and entertainment complex, which cost around €100 million, has grown to nearly 500 employees over the past two years. According to Maarja Pärt, a member of the Yolo Group's supervisory board, during the rapid development phase, many processes were duplicated to ensure a successful start for the business. Now that the business has completely established itself, it was time for restructuring to increase efficiency and turn to profits.

Yolo Group, the group that Bombay belongs to, laid off 280 people only a few months ago also due to internal restructuring and a change in their business model.

UPDATE 10.03.26: On the 4th of March 2026, a member of the management board for Bombay Group announced that the luxury hotel and casino establishment will go through one more round of layoffs due to internal restructuring. They did not specify the exact number of layoffs but said that it will affect more than half of the currently employed people. According to Teatmik.ee, Bombay Group had 164 employees in the last quarter of 2025.

UPDATE 26.03.26: On the 17th of March 2026, Bombay Group filed an initial redundancy plan to the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund which can affect up to 410 employees in the company. Currently the whole Group employs 424 people.
