Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

As announced on 23 September 2025, defence company General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) plans to create 400 jobs at its sites in Kaiserslautern and Sembach (both Rhineland-Palatinate) by 2029.
The company intends to invest 20 million euros and expand its production capacities in response to increased demand from European countries.
Currently, 550 employees work at the Kaiserslautern and Sembach locations of the German subsidiary GDELS-Bridge Systems.
General Dynamics European Land Systems is a subsidiary of the U.S. defence corporation General Dynamics and employs 3,000 people across Europe.
