Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

As announced on 13 March, the German automotive supplier Alu Druckguss, a subsidiary of the AE Group, is closing its site in Lübeck (Schleswig-Holstein). The closure will affect 127 employees.
The company had filed for insolvency under self-administration in August 2024 but was unable to find an investor. The employees will be laid off by April 2025. Over the course of the year, it became known that the remaining sites of the AE Group in Gerstungen (Thuringia) and Nentershausen (Hesse) will also have to close. This is also recorded in the ERM database AE Group - GER.
