Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

As announced on 2 September 2025, the Bochum factory of the German mattress manufacturer Schlaraffia, part of the Aquinos Group, is closing. The announcement, affecting 171 employees, comes after the company filed for insolvency in July 2025 and entered liquidation proceedings.
The rights to the brand are being purchased by the EuroComfort Group, headquartered in Bocholt. The money from the sale will be used to pay the employees' salaries until the end of the year, up to the point of their termination. The employees can apply for open positions at other companies within the EuroComfort Group.
