Description

John Cockerill, a Belgian company specialising in the design and installation of integrated energy systems, has taken over the Belfort site following McPhy's liquidation, preserving 51 out of 71 jobs: McPhy 2025 - FR.

The relaunch includes a €65 million industrial project centred on a new electrolyser stack called MoJo, combining the expertise of both companies. The project could benefit from part of the €114 million in public funding initially granted to McPhy. Authorities welcomed the takeover as a positive step for the French hydrogen sector, though challenges remain due to the high cost of green hydrogen, particularly compared to fossil-based alternatives.
