Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

The German multinational Testo, a global leader in portable and stationary measuring technologies, will inaugurate a new industrial facility in Albergaria‑a‑Velha in September 2025. The new plant will specialise in the production of high‑quality portable measuring instruments.
Representing a strategic investment of around €25 million, Testo will create up to 500 jobs.
The municipality has also announced that Testo has officially joined the Rede de Embaixadores Empresariais (Business Ambassadors Network) under the “Albergaria Empreende+” programme. This local initiative seeks to strengthen regional competitiveness, attract investment, support entrepreneurship, and foster the development of human capital to drive sustainable economic growth.
