Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

The Poudrerie d’Engis-Clermont, part of the French defence group EURENCO, is set to double its production capacity through the construction or renovation of fifteen buildings at its site in Clermont-sous-Huy. The expansion will result in the creation of 120 new jobs, increasing the workforce from 120 to 240 employees.
This €86 million investment aims to meet the growing demand for propellant powders used in small and medium calibre ammunition, serving both civilian markets (such as hunting and sport shooting) and military applications. The site supplies, among others, FN Browning Herstal, with whom a new contract has been signed to ensure the secure supply of powder for ammunition production.
Construction work is already underway, including the installation of new production lines. The investment is considered a strategic move to reinforce Belgium’s supply sovereignty.
