Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Makro Polska, the wholesale company, is restructuring and will close four halls located in Rybnik, Słupsk, Toruń and Zabrze, resulting in 400 employees being made redundant.
The closure of the halls is part of a wider transformation aimed at the company's long-term focus on the HoReCa sector, which requires a different approach to the changing needs of customers. The halls will be closed by 30 September 2025.
Makro has been operating in the Polish market since 1994 and serves professional customers in a multi-channel model - shopping in large-format halls, online or in a delivery model. It is part of Metro AG. To date, 29 halls of the chain have opened across Poland
