Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Huta Szkła ‘Marta 2’ is liquidating its plants in Chełm and Dubeczno, and will therefore lay off 211 employees. In May 2025, shareholders adopted a resolution to dissolve the company; the management pointed to challenges with collecting receivables and an unstable situation on the domestic and foreign markets. A total of 192 people have already received notice of termination. The local Labour Office was informed about the collective redundancies and will continue to activate the redundant employees.
The ‘Marta 2’ Glassworks was established in 1996 and specialised in the production and sale of glass products. At the end of 2024, it had 246 employees.
