Description

The German supermarket chain Aldi is set to open 20 new supermarkets across Spain in the second half of 2025, pushing its total store count above 500 by year-end. This summer alone, four new stores will open in Andalusia, Catalonia, and the Valencian Community, generating 280 new jobs.

These openings form part of Aldi’s broader annual growth strategy, which targets approximately 40 new locations by the end of the year. This follows a sustained pace of expansion in recent years, with 127 stores launched between 2022 and 2024.

Andalusia continues to be a cornerstone of Aldi’s footprint, already hosting over 100 stores. The region will see new openings in Vélez-Málaga and Almería. Recent additions include stores in Sanxenxo and Oleiros (Galicia), Leganés, Las Rozas, and Madrid city, as well as Palma de Mallorca and Alicante. Aldi also maintains a strong presence in Murcia, the Basque Country, the Balearic Islands, and the Canary Islands.

Aldi has experiences several business expansion processes in Spain in 2023 Aldi 2023-ES and 2022 Aldi 2022-ES Aldi 2022-ES, with the creation of 600, 1000 and 600 jobs, respectively.
