Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Timis County Council, a local public administration authority has announced its intention to dismiss 350 people by the end of September 2025.
The County Council, established at county level to coordinate the activities of communal, town and municipal councils to provide public services of county interest, started a reorganisation process at the end of 2024. By April 2025, 250 persons were dismissed. The redundancies were in sectors where the institution considered that there are too many people and low efficiency. And the number of people were supplemented where needed in terms of investment, economics, finance, in extremely important areas where a lot of work is done, as many projects started in 2025.
Through restructuring measures, the institution is looking to save 103 million lei (approx. €20.6 million) by the end of the year by streamlining the expenses.
The council has a workforce of 2,700 people.
