Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

The online grocery retailer Mathem has once again announced the need for layoffs as part of the company's ongoing internal restructuring. These most recent reductions are expected to affect 100 workers in various positions across the company.
Mathem entered internal restructuring in September 2024, and after several extensions, the current end date for the restructuring is set for 17 June 2025.
As previously reported, 300 jobs were cut following the closure of two of the company's warehouses Mathem 2024-SE. An additional 43 employees were given notice in January 2025 at Mathem's warehouse in Larsboda, outside Stockholm.
